The Lisbon studio that prints an image before it trusts it

← Journal

Most imaging teams validate on the screen they built on. Halftone Systems starts by sending everything to paper.

The studio keeps three presses on site: a riso, a small offset press and a large-format inkjet. Every pipeline change is printed on all three before anyone discusses whether it worked.

“The monitor flatters everything,” one researcher says. “Paper tells you the truth in about forty seconds.”

Printed Matter Weekly is a fictional outlet — coverage written for this demo.
