Measure first

The receipts

We think the hard part of imaging is reproduction, not rendering. So we make the image, then spend most of our time proving it survives.

The work runs across three areas: how light becomes an image, what survives the press, and whether people can actually read the result.

How light becomes an image

We study the approximations inside every renderer and measure the point where they stop being invisible.

Light

02 / 04

What survives the press

We take images from file to plate and track every change in tone, edge and colour along the way.

Print

03 / 04

Legibility you can measure

We turn 'it reads well' into thresholds a pipeline can check before anything ships.

Perception

Tested on real substrates

We take the work off the monitor and onto newsprint, vinyl, steel and glass — the surfaces it will actually live on.

What comes out

Proof over promises

What we
prove

Research that stops at a render is easy to fake and hard to trust. Every track here leaves something real behind: a pipeline, a reference set, or a print that matches its proof.

  • Pipelines that ship, not just papers

  • Reference sets anyone can re-measure

  • Artifacts found before readers do

  • Prints that match the proof

  • Tone curves you can trace and check

  • Benchmarks kept honest over time

  • Findings published in full

  • Tools partners can build on
